December 16, 2009 No comments yet

There are four significant pieces of news:

The lease has been signed!
The commencement date on that lease, is April 1 , 2010 (not March 1)!
We’ve raised about 43k to date.  We need at least 100k…so we’re making pretty good progress!
It’s going to be flippin’ incredible!

Basic floorplans will be posted here soonish (sorry about the ‘ish!).
Thank you [...]

Where’s that?

Every time I get my hair cut, the stylist inevitably asks, “So what do you do?” As soon as that question comes up, I know two things are about to happen:
1. Their behavior & speech change & they seem nervous. I have to work to get their guard down.
2. When I invite them to church, I have to explain where Maryville Vineyard is and why it is not in Maryville. [...]

At the moment, just over $11K has been given for the project.  [...]

Jeremiah 17:9 says that “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately sick, who can understand it?”  The Hebrew word for “deceitful” means: Tortuous, uneven, and crooked like a bad road.
For the next few months we’ll be asking you to seek God about how you should give to this building project.  We’ll be asking [...]

Truly a first.

We planted this church five years ago.  This is our first true ‘capital campaign.’  I’ll be honest, the thought terrifies me.  From day one we’ve had a simple statement that defines us, “Real people serving a real God.”  This has always been about authenticity.  And let’s face it, historically, capital campaigns don’t exactly ooze authenticity.  [...]
